Jam sessions soon

Mahesh is making plum jam at the SLl office on Saturday, 2nd August, 11am – 2pm at the West Earlham Community Centre (Click here for more)
Bridget is running a chutney-making workshop on Saturday, 9th August, 10am – 1pm
We’ll use plums from the allotment to make chutney to raise funds for GO2.

If you’d like to take part in either or both of these workshops then please email food@grow-our-own.co.uk asap. These are popular events & places are quickly snapped up so act now.

Jars needed

We still need jam jars, with lids, clean and with labels removed, for our jams and chutneys. The 300ml (1lb) size, or thereabouts, is the most useful.

Please leave in the big shed.

Tessa says help yourself

There are young brassicas and other plants in and outside the polytunnel (shown here) which should be planted using adequate space – click here for instructions.

Eddie’s alternative weed-killer idea

Got Weeds? Use Vinegar: Homemade Weed Killer
1 gallon of white vinegar
1/2 cup salt
Liquid dish soap (any brand)
Empty spray bottle
Put salt in the empty spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way up with white vinegar. Add a squirt of liquid dish soap. This solution works best if you use it on a hot day.
Spray it on the weeds in the morning, and as it heats up it will do its work.
