Time for a Tidy
The End-of-Year Tools Clear Up is this Sunday (2nd November), a chance to “put something back” in every sense! Note that refreshments will be served mid morning.
Food Share? What’s that I hear you say? Well, it is a traditional part of this scheme that on the first Sunday of the month we gather together to share food. Please join us if you are new (or even existing member) of this wonderful scheme by bringing some food/drink to share. The idea is to use produce from your plots as much as possible. I’m hoping to bake a pear/apple crumble & a pumpkin dish.
I rescued some beans pods from the compost heap recently & have used the beans inside. I steamed them & then used them for a stew. Have also frozen some! If you have too many beans or any other produce/plants on your plot/s then please put them on the wooden picnic table for others to help themselves.
Charles & I have been taking the non-recyclable rubbish to the tip for some time now & we plan to do it again next week. If you have any unwanted plastic or any other non-recyclable rubbish then please leave near the greenhouse under the table as pictured. If you are able to take it home & put it in your domestic rubbish bin then please do.Thanks, Juyna
GO2 has had an influx of new members, so welcome to: Frank, Jaime and Andres who join our other Spanish growers, Beki, Vic, Raphael, Jana, Sophie, Anita, Michael, Joanne and Mark. We’re pleased that Anne M, Laurie and Max have all come back to GO2 after a break.
If you have new people next to you, please say hello and make them welcome. If you ever want to know who your plot neighbours are, there is a diagram in the big shed.
We have a potential new grower: congratulations to Amaranta and José who have had a little boy, Dario (hope I spelt that right). The little wheelbarrow is waiting until he’s big enough!
A reminder: from mid-November to mid-February, there is officially no one in the big shed on Sunday and Wednesday mornings, though it’s quite likely some of us will be there – with tea and cake. We just can’t keep away – even in bad weather! Thanks, Christine
Bridget has sent us a season recipe for Ginger and Chilli Pumpkin Soup, her kitchen will be full at her chutney-workshop tomorrow, Saturday.
