Saturday 5th September from 10am to 2pm Cooking at Marlpit Community Centre
Half a dozen of us joined Bridget and learnt to make apple jelly (we had no blackberries) and a quick chutney. We all helped Amy with lunch made from potatoes, tomatoes and greens from the Marlpit Community Garden (just up the road) with cous-cous and home-made chutneys. The jelly strains very slowly to keep it from clouding, so we used the first fraction to make jelly on the day and left the rest to drip overnight. Forcing the pulp through the mesh will make for a cloudy jelly.
