Volunteers from UEA joined some of our regulars at Marlpit Community Garden.
Due to bad weather, we had postponed to Wednesday 19 October 2016
The weather was still wet, but we went anyway! See the photos –
Six students from UEA’s School of International Development (DEV) and their tutor came and helped tend the orchard trees. It only rained intermittently and we all had an enjoyable time. Meeting people from different backgrounds is always and interesting and stimulating experience for all. DEV masters students are often widely traveled and being from China, South Korea and Japan, they were pleased to find we were growing plants they recognised from home.
Lunch was prepared from locally grown vegetables by Mahesh at the nearby Marlpit Community Centre and we ate in the fresh air.
All members are welcome to attend these Volunteer Days – it can make light work of the tasks we need to do and is most rewarding for all.
