Continue digging; cover bare grounds with leaf mould, straw or cardboard. Earth up Spring Cabbage and Purple Sprouting Broccoli. Net Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, over wintering brassicas and chard to protect the plants from pigeon; remove yellow leaves from winter brassicas.

Sow / plant

Broadbeans, garlic, onion sets (until the middle of the month), fruit bushes and canes, such as gooseberry, raspberry and rhubarb towards the end of November. Hurry up if you would like to sow garlic, onions and broadbeans.

Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Kale, Carrots, Leek, Parsnips, Radish, Turnips, Spring Onions, Swiss Chard.
